Jamie Carragher praises Arsenal for their summer transfer business

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has heaped praise on Arsenal for making quality additions to the squad during the summer transfer window. The Gunners have endured a disappointing start to the Premier League campaign and they are currently placed 15th on the table with only 13 points after 11 matches.
As such, they have been far from impressive as a collective unit, but they have been standout displays from summer signings Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes. Carragher has also been impressed with the duo and believes the hierarchy should stick with Arteta as the head coach, he told Sky Sports: “Mikel Arteta brought in [Thomas] Partey and Gabriel [Magalhaes]. They look like Arsenal’s two best players at this moment. I think they've had four managers and three CEOs since 2018. Just stick with Arteta, but there's going to be a lot of pain for Arsenal.”

The north London giants are currently experiencing their worst-ever start to a Premier League season and that sees them already eight points behind the top four. As such, their Champions League qualification hopes through the league are already fading and they need a huge turnaround during the festive period to close the deficit.

The Gunners ended last season on a high by winning the FA Cup and that was soon followed by the Community Shield triumph. They started the league campaign with back-to-back league wins, but they have since managed just two victories from the next nine games. That sees them rooted into the bottom half of the table and reports claim that Arteta has three matches to save his job.
Otherwise, the hierarchy may look into a replacement and there are suggestions that Massimiliano Allegri could be an option for the club. The Italian manager has been out of work since leaving Juventus during the summer of 2019. He guided the Bianconeri to five successive Serie A titles between 2014 and 2019.
