It was José Mourinho who brought Ashley Cole to Stamford Bridge back in 2006. The former Arsenal defender has established himself as one of the best in the world. He has managed to win all major trophies with Chelsea, but he reckons that he has more to offer for the club in the coming season.

Cole played under Mourinho for only one full season before the departure of the Portuguese manager in September 2007. Now that he is back for his second spell at the club, Cole wants to show his best form to the 50-year-old.

In his first full season at Stamford Bridge, Cole was injured for most of the season. Even though he managed to win the FA Cup and League cup in his first season at the club, the defender has said that he could have certainly played much better. As a result, he feels that he owes his best to the man who brought him to Chelsea where he has been able to lift numerous titles in the last seven years. This includes the much coveted Champions League title as well, and Cole does not see reason why he should achieve this feat once again with the West London outfit.

Cole will be competing for a place alongside Ryan Bertrand.
“I wouldn't say I've had an unfulfilled Chelsea career. I've been lucky enough to win a few trophies. I hope to win more. Having the manager back, we can do it all together. As players we owe it to the manager to win the league or the Champions League again. From day one when I first started playing football, I've always wanted to win. That feeling's never gone away. Having the manager back now from 2006 when he bought me, I still feel I owe him something," said Cole.
