Berbatov intrigued to see Odion Ighalo’s displays at Manchester United

Speaking on Betfair, Berbatov believes his former club did the right thing to sign the former Watford, who has an impressive scoring record over the past few seasons. He added that he is curious to watch the 30-year-old in action for the Red Devils to find out whether he can fit into the scheme of things under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
“I think it’s a good move for United because Ighalo has played in the Premier League, and did well with Watford, so he will know what to expect. He’s scored plenty of goals in China and his record for Nigeria is impressive too. I want to see him play as soon as possible because I’m curious to see how he will fit in to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans. United have arguably lacked a natural number nine this season. That’s what Ighalo should give them and I will be interested to see how they play with him in the side,” he told.
Ighalo had only been at the beginning of pre-season with Shenhua and he should be short of fitness at the present point of time. Nonetheless, the Nigerian has started working hard on the same and the next week or so should give an indication whether he would make the matchday squad to face Chelsea in the Premier League on February 17.
The Red Devils have had the better of the Blues on two occasions in the Premier League and League Cup this term. However, the club won’t have the services of Rashford, who was influential towards both victories. The England international bagged a brace in both of those matches as he was adjudged the man of the match.
