Azpilicueta Believes Club Will Benefit Costa Signing

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta says that the club will certainly benefit from the signing of Diego Costa, which is expected to be officially announced in the next few weeks. Chelsea have been working very hard to bring in the Atletico Madrid striker. They are believed to have agreed a £ 32 million deal, which matches the release clause figure in his contract. Apart from this, there are also thought to have agreed a £ 150,000 per week contract as well. They have been very keen to sign the player before the World Cup 2014.
However, it looks like they will have to wait until the end of the tournament in order to do so. Despite this, it is almost certain that the player will come to Chelsea.

Azpilicueta, who plays along with him at the national team level, says that the 25-year-old will be a very good addition to the Chelsea team. This is because he will provide the same level of quality upfront that the club has been missing since the exit of Didier Drogba. Costa is one of the physical players in the Spanish team. Chelsea boss José Mourinho is known to favour such physical players as an outlet when his teams are under pressure.

"Physically, Diego is very strong and the Premier League is very demanding in that aspect. I’m sure he’ll adapt – he can adapt to any situation. Right from the first day, when I began training under him, it was clear that he is a very different coach. He’s always shown faith in me and it’s just a shame that we couldn’t win any trophies during his first year back with us. We came close though and with a few great signings and the team maturing, hopefully we’ll win something,” said the Chelsea defender about the club’s new signing.
